The Expedition
A true multi-day journey on horseback through the remote landscapes of the Atacama Desert. Each day combines riding, exploration and life in the desert, following routes far from conventional tourism.
This expedition does not require previous horseback riding experience, but participants must be in good physical condition and prepared for long days outdoors, high daytime temperatures and cold desert nights.

7 Days on Horseback
Dates: October 27 – November 5, 2026
Arrival: El Loa Airport, Calama
Horseback Route: Chiu Chiu → Puente del Diablo → Turi → Caspana → Turcapo → Río Grande → Catarpe → San Pedro de Atacama
Riding Time: Approximately 5–8 hours per day
Highest Point: Approximately 3,700 m
Accommodation: Local hostels, desert camps and 2 hotel nights in San Pedro de Atacama
Final Experience: Atacama Salt Flat and lagoons
Departure: Transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to El Loa Airport, Calama
